Minimum Age
Educational Leave is time off to undertake a course of full-time studies for a minimum of two weeks. Applications for this through Wimbledon School of English would mean a full-time course to improve your English language skills in all areas from speaking, writing, reading and listening; to pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary.

Wimbledon School of English is an approved English language school for Bildungsurlaub 'Educational Leave' courses.
Participants are required to have a minimum B1 intermediate level of English.
The Bildungsurlaub English course is 30 hours per week. This consists of 24.5 hours per week of group classes, plus 5.5 hours of guided self-study. The course includes cultural and political studies.
The weekly course fee for all states is £495; for two weeks it is £990.
All students will be required to pay a one-off £60 registration fee and a one-off £45 materials fee.

The course consists of 30 hours per week in total, which includes cultural and political studies.
It follows our intensive timetable (above) plus there is an extra 5.5 hours per week of guided self-study.
To make an Intensive course, students can choose one of our Standard courses (21 hours) + an options course (3.5 hours)
All students can start their course on any Monday throughout the year. Please note that some public holidays in the UK fall on a Monday in which case students will start their course on the Tuesday.
Holiday dates for 2025 are:
The school closes for Christmas and New Year on Friday 19 December 2025 and re-opens on Monday 05 January 2026.
Please note that there is no reduction in the course fees where a course includes a public holiday.
