Our English for Law course is designed for law students, practising lawyers and other professionals working in the legal sector. If you want to develop your English language skills within a legal context, then this is the course for you. Our Legal English course covers fifteen areas of law and includes the study of real court trials in order to enhance the learning experience of the students. These courses follow our online intensive timetable of 28 lessons, which is 23 hours 20 minutes of face-to-face lessons.
You will work on improving all four English language skills within a legal context as well as learning specific legal terminology and how to use it appropriately. In addition to this, participants are expected to improve their core study skills through up to 2 hours of focused self-study each evening set by their tutors to meet their needs.

Please note, the exam will on the Thursday of your final week. Specialist areas can also be covered in the final lesson at the end of the course.
done Study the specific language used in various areas of law, including commercial law, property law, employment law, contract law.
done Improve your understanding of different kinds of legal documents, such as letters, contracts and meeting minutes, and analyse the language.
done Analyse language used in Lawyer/Client interactions.
done Visit a court of law and see a real trial (subject to court schedules).
done Study strategies and techniques for the TOLES exam.
done Practise writing letters and memoranda on legal matters.
done Participate in situations typical of legal practice through role-plays.
