This options course in IELTS examination preparation is available to students at Pre Intermediate level (A2) and above. The course is intended for students who are planning to go on to take the Academic IELTS (International English Language Testing System) exam, study academic English, or study in a British university or college.

Students can add these 4-afternoon lessons onto any 24-lesson standard English course when booking.

 IELTS Preparation course content:

The focus of the classes is to improve your level of English in an academic context, combining reading, writing, listening and speaking with exam preparation. You will also develop your grammar and range of vocabulary. Self-study guidance is given to consolidate classroom learning.

• reading for gist and for detail

• describing facts and discussion opinions

IELTS preparation

• familiarisation with the exam format
• techniques and strategies
• developing reading, writing, listening and speaking skills
• exam practice
