English Course for 40 plus Start Dates 2024:

This course is designed for learners aged 40+ who wish to combine studying English with spending time exploring the city of London and British culture. Lessons take place in the morning, with excursions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, and one full-day excursion on Saturday.

Tuition takes place over 29 lessons, 20 of these take place in the classroom and 9 take place in different locations around London. The number of hours is 24 hours and 10 minutes per week.

You will:

done Have the opportunity to study with other mature students who have an interest in learning more about London and British culture.

done In consultation with your classmates and teacher, select interesting places in London and the local area to visit.

done Learn the stories behind the places you visit through structured morning lessons, and improve your confidence in speaking through discussions.

done Study practical language to use in various situations with an emphasis on fluency, and learn useful vocabulary.

done Go on 3 half-day excursions per week.

done Have 1 full-day excursion.

WSE Holiday Dates

All students can start their course on any Monday throughout the year. Please note that some public holidays in the UK fall on a Monday in which case students will start their course on the Tuesday. 

Wimbledon School of English will close for the Christmas and New Year holidays on Friday 15th December 2023 and reopens on Tuesday 2nd January 2024.

The school closes for Christmas and New Year on Friday 20 December 2024 and re-opens on Monday 6th January 2025.

Please note that there is no reduction in the course fees where a course includes a public holiday.
