Perhaps you are planning a holiday, want to reconnect with a language you learnt at school, or simply fancy taking up a new hobby. If you live in Wimbledon or the surrounding area, there is now an easy way to fit language learning into your week — without travelling into central London.

Wimbledon School of English offers evening foreign language courses for adults in French, Italian, Spanish and Korean, right here in Wimbledon.

Make Tuesday evening your language-learning night

Learning something new does not have to mean changing your whole routine.

The foreign language courses run on Tuesday evenings from 18:30 to 20:20, making them a convenient option for local people who work or have other commitments during the day.

The next 10-week course starts on 15 September 2026. If you cannot join this course, keep an eye out for the next course dates in 2027.

With a maximum of 12 students in each class, you can practise speaking and listening regularly while learning alongside other adults.

French, Italian, Spanish or Korean?

The hardest part might be deciding which language to learn.

French

Courses are available from A1 Beginner to B1 Intermediate, so you can choose a class that matches your level.

Lessons focus on practical communication, including speaking, listening, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation. The aim is not simply to learn words from a textbook, but to help you become more comfortable actually using the language.

A new skill, close to home

One of the best things about learning locally is that it is easy to make it part of your routine.

You can finish work, head to Wimbledon School of English and spend your evening doing something different. Over 10 weeks, you could go from knowing just a few words to having real conversations in another language.

And who knows? Your Tuesday evening class could be the start of a new hobby, a future holiday or a lifelong interest in another culture.

The next course begins on Tuesday 15 September 2026 and runs for 10 weeks.
